Capstone Development Partners, LLC, continues the legacy of 21 years of success by its predecessor Capstone Development Corp., focusing on partnering with colleges and universities to develop housing programs on the campus, or in the surrounding urban environment. An important objective is to achieve not only quality new housing communities, but communities that enhance our university partner’s ability to recruit and retain students.
Urban and campus projects have unique characteristics and challenges. Our talented personnel have learned how to manage multiple stakeholders, clearly understand and respond to the needs of numerous and diverse project influencers, and ultimately build consensus for a project striking the appropriate balance between quality and affordability for the student residents. In the process, we have been responsible for the successful development of over 38,000 beds of on-campus / campus-affiliated housing for 61 colleges or universities. These developments range from several hundred beds, to as many as 2,000.
Our partnerships have achieved new housing communities which are custom, contextual, and predominantly reflect commercial quality (for example, concrete, conventional or light gage steel, etc). The development solutions include those for first time students, to upper level and graduate students and faculty, within communities of suites and apartments. These communities range from low, to mid and high-rise facilities, as well as mixed use facilities incorporating dining, retail and parking structures.
Recent partnerships include Montclair State University (New Jersey), Bowling Green State University (Ohio), Arizona State University Downtown Phoenix, Towson University (Maryland), University of Maryland College Park, Florida Atlantic University, and Lock Haven University (Pennsylvania).
Capstone Development Partners’ commitment to excellence and quality is reflected in four of its projects being awarded the prestigious “Student Housing Project of the Year,” by Multifamily Executive magazine, which were:
