Capstone Communities management division, Capstone Properties, LLC., focuses on the leasing and management of both off-campus student housing and conventional multifamily communities across the country. Originally established in 1990, Capstone Properties began as the off-campus management arm of Capstone Development Corp. responsible for operating its University Commons portfolio. The University Commons portfolio, which was sold in 2006, included 13,000 beds within 19 off-campus student housing communities. From 2007-2011, Capstone Properties served as the management company for all off-campus developments of Capstone Development including its campus edge communities, acquisition & renovation communities, as well as the cottage, lodge & loft communities. In 2012 when Capstone Development was restructured, Capstone Properties became the management division for Capstone Communities. Currently, Capstone Properties provides management services for 7 multi-family communities comprised of 1,938 units and 1860 beds within 3 off-campus communities. Capstone Properties has experience managing traditional three-story walk-ups, lofts, lodges, cottage communities and mid/high-rise communities, as well as services for third-party owners.
